2nd Graders Turn Research into Word Clouds

Our three second grade classes came to the library this week to research a variety of topics. Students studied the life cycle of the butterfly in their classrooms and extended their curiosity by researching the life cycle of chickens, turtles, frogs and more. Students strengthened their technology and research skills by using computers and accessing Pebblego.com. They also used books from our library media center as well as books from the New Haven Free Public Library. Students took notes and then made a word list of meaningful words that related to the subject they chose to study.  Students then created word clouds using Tagxedo on the computers.
